Microsoft Rewards Points Have Returned to Previous Levels on Their Homepage

In late 2023, Microsoft decided to reduce the points people could earn for doing daily tasks in its Microsoft Rewards program. When we asked Microsoft about these changes in late November 2023, a spokesperson didn't give a direct answer. They only mentioned that the company has been "constantly evolving" the Rewards program for years, evaluating each change for fairness and consistency. They also mentioned adjusting how members can earn points.

Now, it seems Microsoft has reversed at least some of those changes. According to Xbox fan IdleSloth on his X (formerly Twitter) account, the number of points people can earn daily on the Rewards home page is back to what it used to be.

In November, the daily points dropped to just one or two for each task on the Microsoft Rewards page. Now, those numbers are back up to 5, 10, or even 30 points that Rewards members can earn.

There's no official word on why Microsoft changed its stance. It's possible that the protests from long-time Microsoft Rewards members influenced this decision.

While the daily points on the Microsoft Rewards pages are back to normal, Microsoft has still made some changes in other parts of the program. Xbox gamers recently discovered that the number of weekly and monthly Xbox Game Pass Quest points they can earn has increased. However, it might take them longer to complete these quests compared to the previous system.

Microsoft hasn't been very open about all these changes to the Rewards program, and it doesn't seem like that will change soon.
